Poetry
is easier than prose, she'd said and I had smiled and nodded wihout
really thinking about it, letting it pass on by. But now that I think
about it I suppose it depends. Some poetry is not easy to write. Some
of it is amazin and would not be the same if it was a piece of prose.
But, I can also see how writing prose is more difficult, one has to
connect the ideas and make the sentences fuller and more complete.
You can't just leave the reader(listener) to fill in your blanks. And
so, it makes writing good prose difficult. I can not say if I like
poetry more than prose. They are just different. I used to write
quite a bit of poetry but that could be because my thought pattern
was kind of jumpy and made it difficult to express it as prose. But I
have moved from poetry to short texts.. opinions and flows of
consciousness(or whatever you call those things)
