Introduction

...Time’s a funny thing. It flows forwards, always heading to the future... but it never flows backwards. Our creative minds try to see what the future holds... some claim to know, but they foresee a world none of us will ever live to see. So who’s to know if they really do see the guture? Are we really heading toward a world of technology and science, or will the world just continue being exactly what it is today? Has human civilization advanced as far as it possibly can? Are we at the peak of our existence, already beginning out slow decline? If we are, can we save ourselves from the Apocalypse? If time flowed in reverse, could we undo the flaws that are slowly destoying our lives... drugs, violence, war? Or are we doomed from some pretedermined point in time?

The scattered thoughts of what Trei would call my “untrained mind” always filled the dark hours before I fell asleep... back then. I still thought a little like that now, mainly of whether or not he could maintain the perfect balance of NeoEarth. Most of my thoughts were foolish little fragments of speculation, none of them making any sense, none of them matching the others. According to Trei and Atria - his younger sister, their thoughts flowed in one steady trail. If they so wished it, they could trace their thoughts back to their earliest memories. I didn’t doubt it. They seemed mystical...

Ah, but I’m getting ahead of myself already. My name was Andrew. I say it was Andrew, because Trei gave me a new name shortly after I met him. We’ll get to that when the time comes. But back then, my name was Andrew Reveicht, and I was twenty-two years old. I forget the exact date of my departure from my time, but I do remember it was sometime in the early twenty-first century. I wasn’t exactly rich, but I wasn’t living in the worse-off part of town, either. I lived in an apartment in a large city, a bachelor with no intentions of ever having a family. I had a good job at a business firm, and I made good money for someone my age. I was good-looking, really... I looked much younger than I was. I was a lover of rock music - something Trei found unusual - and an avid bookworm. I rode around on a motorcycle in my spare time. My life was what you could consider normal; I was an “average Joe.” Then, one day, something happened. Something no one’s quite figured out yet. Whatever it was, I ended up here, in “NeoEarth,” the future of our planet.

I have a strange kind of amnesia. I remember my past... everything except that night. I see it in flashes sometimes... never anything conclusive, so Trei and Santrea always tellme just to I gnore it. Somehow I know that, if Trei had the same flashes, he’d know exactly what they meant. Oh! Pardon me, but you don’t even know who Trei is, do you...? ...Trei is too complex to explain in a simple paragraph. Really, he’s much too complex to explain in words... but I’ll start from the beginning, from my arrival in NeoEarth to the current time... or should I say...

...from the future up until the future?

Time’s funny like that.
