That Old Song

It's just like that old song,
The one I'd always listen to
When I wanted to think about you.
I'd laugh at the goood times,
Sigh for the bad times,
Ever time I'd hear that old song.

The CD's scratched too much now,
And the memories have all
Faded, like the label.
You broke my heart and the song stopped,
For it disgusted me, and I've forgotten
How that song even started now.

I can recall a line about love,
A love that would never die,
And a world made my you and I;
About promises made two years past,
And though they faded after two years passed,
The chorus wondered all about love.

It's just like that old song,
The one that still haunts me
And the one that haunts my dreams.
I'd listen to it, but then I'd find
The scars I bear for the times I lied.
Now I hate that old song.

I'm not effected anymore,
No matter how it hurt before;
Through all the pain and grief and shame,
I shake my head and close that door,
For you don't love me anymore.
