I have these muscles in my back

I love to feel them move underneath my skin

but I can see it better underneath yours

take off your clothes, I want to see

your inner workings

shed your skin

I am reptilian,

peeling myself out of a

scaly carapace

unecessary and really doing nothing

but getting in the way,

a hindrance to

me and you

Through the sheets I slither,

telling you with looks "Come hither,"

until you and I become entwined

and dance and writhe until the night

has withered into nothing but

a memory contained inside of a shell

held dear in the back of my mind

until the time should come to pull it out,

peel back the layers and see

the fresh new face beneath all of the time

that has passed us by,

shining cleanly through the foggy film

keeping out your touch.
