I was alone every morning, while the world was being made,

I was lost in star-woods, when humans were being raised,

I was absent without leave when they all called out my name

And I was never there for them though they needed someone like me.

I never stepped foot on their planet but I forever walked in their lives,

I never spoke with a human God yet I heard more than enough,

I never saw the birth of earth but I’ll haunt it’s demise

And I never met a human child though each of them knows me.

I am nothing to adults but an infants every tear,

I am there when noon arrives in every human’s years,

I am something people yearn for but thrown away for free

And I will be lost when humans find what they’re perpetually searching for.
