darker than the Darkest heart
all at once it seems to me
the sun is one with devils art
no matter what it seems to be
all I see is flaring light
stare too long and you go blind
glowing power searing might
worm their way into my mind
and there's nothing there but shadows
nothing there but unsung songs
the light that floods this empty cavern
burnt the stars out all along

and it's the bleakest place
cold and shining
purity's uncaring guise
makes its way
the bold defining
energy in rust clad flies

and it's the last ones face
the climax dying
treachery in haunted smiles
and today
my hope defying
empathy in molten lies

I'm the last erased
no harm in crying
see despair an angels eyes
now replaced
my loss surviving
mystery in clouded skies

so bounce around on happy feet
and fly above those happy fools
higher higher til you meet
that happy place where sadness pools

there's a place I go when I'm afraid
dark and quiet place I stay
It's in this place my dreams are made
as demons fears come out to play

its the place I go
when I feel scared
