Humility

by fabian cortez

Dark clouds hang

Low with apparent

Lack of silver shred

To glow

-

Convoluted lives, self

Complexities to burn

Yet not permit

A sacred trust

In liberty a turn

-

Dark clouds hang

Low with selfish acts,

Of petty vengeful bogus

Facts that hold

No credence other than

Vindictive reason

-

Decent hearts

Soon recognise, a part

Of them that they despise

With recognition comes

A chance to change

For altruism is within

A mainstay of their

Range

-

Stubborn-ness, take a back

Seat, allow blue skies

My eyes to greet

Dark clouds pass by

Let sunlight in

For true heart soul

Have peace herein

-

If not & stubborn-ness takes

Hold, a heart once warm

Will grow so cold

In bitter testament

Of loss, to harden now

Means endless cost

-

Eat greedily humility

Lo ever sun our

Spirits see
