Angel and Demon
Praises welcomed, Criticisms eaten, and Flames used to light illegal Cuban cigars.

"Tch! Where is he?" a tall figure decked out all in black leather checked a silver wristwatch on his left wrist. He growled in frustration and blew his bangs from his eyes, finally running a hand through the black locks to get them to stay out of his way, wondering why he let his late companion choose that hairstyle for him.

"Come on, I haven't got Eternity!" he muttered as he tapped his foot on the concrete, scanning the crowds for his companion. "Bleeding little shit's always late."

"Luke!"

The figure turned when he heard his name called and he was nearly bowled over by a white blur. Said white blur latched onto his neck and hugged tightly.

"Sorry I'm late! I was held up at the Gates," the figure in white said breathily. Blonde hair fell over dark hazel eyes and Luke pushed the strands away.

"It's okay, I was starting to get worried. Why were you held up, Gabe?"

"Tch! Same ol' same ol'. Peter wanted to know where I was going and how long I'd be. I said that he could find me if he REALLY needed me and that however long I'd be gone was MY business. I got lectured," he finished in a hurt-puppy tone and Luke immediately saw red.

"And you put up with that cranky angel why again?" Gabriel fluttered his lashes sweetly up at the demon in reply and he was forced to give in. "Alright, alright, don't look at me like that. We have a job to do."

"Ya know, I'd kill for a pancake right about now," Gabriel said wistfully.

Luke rolled his eyes slightly and ruffled the blonde angel's hair. "How about after our work and after our play I buy you a stack of pancakes?"

"Ya mean it?"

"Yeah, why not?"

"YAY! Thank you, Luke!" Gabriel squealed and glomped onto the dark clothed demon, little hearts fluttering.

Luke poked at a floating heart and grabbed it. It squeaked.

"Thank you, Luke, I love you."

"Yeah, yeah, I guess I love you, too, Angel," Luke said and kissed his companion's cheek. "Now off we go."

Gabriel squinted at the little girl before kneeling in front of her and patting her head. "Don't worry, it'll get better. You just wait, your daddy will be home in a couple days."

The little girl nodded and hugged the angel. "Thank you, Mr. Angel."

"You're welcome. Now go on, honey, your mommy will be looking for you soon," he smiled as the little girl nodded again and bounced off to find her mother. He stood and put his fists on his hips, grinning, "My job here is done! Now to find Luke."

"How come you get all the dark and grimy stuff?"

Luke looked over his shoulder as he holstered a gun and shrugged. "Dunno, maybe because I'm the demon and you're the angel?"

"Ha ha, not funny," Gabriel muttered and walked up the alley way to his darker dressed companion. He wrapped his arms around one of Luke's and nudged the dead body with his foot, "Is he dead?"

"Looks that way, doesn't it?"

"Uh-huh."

"Did you go do your thing?"

"Uh-huh."

"Okay, our work is done, let's go and play."

The scent of Jergens soap and sweet orange scented shampoo emanated from the pliable form in Luke's arms. His companion's skin was cool from the shower and scrubbed clean and smooth, and his hair gleamed platinum gold under the dim light. How could anyone not want to be with this fair skinned angel?

Luke poked at a sparkly and it popped, waking his angelic companion. "Hey," the dark haired demon said as he stroked Gabriel's face.

"Hey, what time's it?"

"Does it matter?"

"Not really," the angel murmured and shifted before snuggling deep against Luke's frame.

Luke rubbed circles on the angel's back and stroked his arms. "TV's boring. Wanna have fun?"

"You'll buy me pancakes afterwards, right?"

"A big ol' stake of them."

"It's a deal!" Gabriel giggled as he tackled his companion and kissed him.

"I'd like a stake of pancakes and large glass of orange juice, please," Gabriel told the waitress and she nodded.

"How about you, sir?"

"Cup of coffee and a ham and cheese omelet, please," Luke said and handed the menu back to the girl. "And make his orange juice a carafe of the stuff."

"Yes, sir, I'll bring your order to you in a few minutes."

"Thank you!" Gabriel called and then propped his head up in his hands, watching the other patrons in the diner. "I had fun today, Luke. Thanks for agreeing to bring me."

"Anything for you, Angel."

Gabriel smiled sweetly and leaned over the table to kiss his companion on his cheek. "I love ya, Luke."

"I guess I love you, too, Angel," the demon said and pat Gabriel's head. "Ooo, food."

"Thanks again, Luke. Um, you want to come in," Gabriel asked at the Gates, his fingers intertwined tightly with Luke's.

"Can't, you know that."

"But I want you to!"

"I'm not allowed, Angel," Luke ruffled the pouting angel's hair and kissed his lips. "We'll go out again together and play again, okay?"

"Okay," the angel still pouted. He was twirled around and dipped, Luke's lips covering his and kissing him deeply.

"You were heavenly," the demon whispered when he broke the kiss and disappeared, leaving the angel leaning on the Gates.

He smiled slightly and nodded then turned and pushed the Gates open.

"GABRIEL! WHERE HAVE YOU BEEN?!"

He winced slightly at Peter's yell but couldn't help but grin as he walked in.
