She was standing on a dock. A small dock overlooking a lake. It was twilight, and she couuld almost smell the mountain air. She watched calmly as three forms flew down toward her. one was a man in chains, the others were two men dressed in average and rich like clothes. She held her arms out to all three and watched as they gathered speed and slammed hard into her...
Emily let out a cry and sat up. Lying in her large bed, the darkness pressing in on her, she shivered and turned a light on. Jesus another nightmare. She thought as she got out of bed. It was 3 in the morning, and too anxious to sleep, she decided to go check on everyone. She peeked into her mothers room. Her mother, Amy, was a mother of eight, those of who werent even her own. Emily, her sister Marge and Samantha, the youngest, were boilogiclly Amy's. The other five were kids that Amy had adopted. Emily had always thought it was a little extreme, adopting five other kids. Then she discovered why. All eight of the kids were elementals. Children born of each element. Emily was earth, marge was fire and sam was wind. The other five, Jacky, Louise, Alex, Jess and April were water, light, dark, thunder and ice, all in that order. Amy was their protector, and in order to protect them she had to have them all together. Raising eight children, all with seperate interests plus different powers was hard work, so she had bought a house out in the country that could fit all nine of them. Amy was a single mother, Emily's dad having died a few weeks after sam was born. Emily acted as a second mom to the others. She was the big sister, the one they turned to for information about boys, help at school, and other important matters. Sam was the only one in elementary school, and had a hard time making friends cuzz she was considered "different". no one knew about their powers, they just knew she was very quiet. Jacky, Louise, and alex were in junior high, Jacky and Louise both being in seventh and Alex being in sixth. Jess and April were in high school. Jess was in ninth and April was in tenth. Emily peeked into each of their rooms and sighed with longing; they were all sleeping peacefully. God why dont i ever get to have a good nights sleep? She thought bitterly. She went back into her room and sat down on her window seat, looking out across the lawn at teh moonlit yard. The yard was covered in toys of sams and some of jacky and louise's stuff. There was three cars parked in the driveway. She sighed again. She shivered when some of the night air came wafted in through the open window. Faintly she detected the scent of blood. She sat up straight. She ran out of her room and banged on everyones door. "EVERYONE UP LETS GO UP AND AT 'EM WE HAVE AN EMERGENCY!" Eight tired heads came out of the rooms. "whats going on?" Jacky asked groggily. "I smell blood." Sam's little blue eyes widened. "B..blood?" "Yes sweety, blood. We need to get going. amy?" Emily's mom poked her head out of her room, she was already dressed. "Yes?" "We're leaving we'll be back soon." Emily said as she began to fade. Amy grinned. "have fun." She murmered, the hallway now empty.
A few miles away, Emily and the others appeared in an old pasture. the grass was over grown and there was a lone cow grazing lazily near the fence. it cast them a sleepy look then looked away. Emily looked around. "Smell it?" The older girls nodded, Samantha just whimpered. Emily hoisted sam up onto her shoulders and looked around. "I smell metal too..." Louise wrinkled her nose. She murmered something and her hand lit up, giving them of a more visual. Emily shut her eyes and felt along the earth for something dead, and found it. She gagged and put Sam down. "Loui, stay here with Sam. we'll be right back." Emily said, started forward across the field. The other girls followed, all watching out for something to jump out and scare them, the smell of blood and leather getting stronger. They finally came upon and old abandoned barn, and the sight of the dead carcass of the cow inside made Jacky throw up. Emily covered her nose, the others following suit. "Oh god thats sick!" Alex cried. They stared at the dark form sucking blood from it. "Is that a vampire?" Marge asked quietly. It didnt even look up. Emily didnt reply, instead, she held her arms out, palms toward the ground and shut her eyes. Huge thick green vines shot out of the ground, grabbing the demon. It roared and lifted it head as it went up, its wrists and ankles bound. As it snarled and struggled, the girls pondered on what they should do with it. Emily watched it. It had hansome features, long blonde hair and green eyes, visible in the light of the flashlights they held. It was obviously a guy. It didnt look like any of the other demons she had fought before, he didnt have horns, he didnt have long fangs. He did have teeth like a vampires though. He had huge black feathered wings, like some kind of evil angel. He struggled with his bonds some more than glared at them. "You stupid witch. UNTIE ME AND I WONT KILL YOU!" Jackey laughed. "You have no room to talk son of a bitch." Emily glanced at her. "I dont like you swaering like that." she murmered. Jackey looked at her feet. "Sorry." Emily turned her attention back to the demon. "So what should we do with him?" "I say we kill him." "I second that." Emily grinned. She had a better idea. "Demon...Look at me." The demons head was turned away, he was looking at the wall to his right. He spat at the ground to show his distaste and she grinned. "We'll make him work for one of us." The others looked at her like she was crazy. "Huh?" they said in unison. "We'll make him a slave." "Oh...but why? wouldnt it be easier to kill him?" Jackey asked. Emily turned to them. "This guy obviously hates having to obey someone, so if Jess can make a collar like the kind she put on the dog once..." "HEY THAT WAS ONE TIME!" "shh! anyway if she could make a stronger one, we could have our own personal slave...but only one of us." "Who would get him?" "I dunno..." "How aboutyou take him emily?" "Me? I dont think so...you know Aden would feel about it..." "Yeah take him! You'd have more use for him anyway, since your home alot and stuff." Jess said. "I'll do it!" Jess added, she went out into the field and took some metal she found in the corner of the barn with her. A little while later she came back with a newly made collar. "Ok someone has to get it on him. It'll shock him if he even thinks of doing bodily harm to anyone. Emily mostly. It also acts as a sort of summoner. You think his name, say it out loud, he'll hear it and itll make him come a-calling. Ok?" Emily nodded. She took the chain and smiled. "Thanks jess." she went over to the demon and, with some helps of vines, got up to his height. He was still not looking at her. She Opened the collar and cocked her head to one side. "So whats your name?" "Why should i tell a little shit like you?" he snarled. Emily blinked. "Wow. You dont even know me. Well...whatever. I'm emily, and im gonna be your new master!" she announced, putting on a fake cheerful sound in her voice. The demon looked at her. "You stupid-" she had the collar on him and snapped closed before he could finish. "Now...whats your name?" The demon blinked. "I'M NOT TELLING YOU!" Emily grinned. "Then I'll name you!" the demon stared at her. "How about...fluffy?" "How dare you insult me with such a lowly name!" "Fluffy it is!" The demon stared at her. He let out a growl and tore himself free. Emily jumped down and ran over to the others. The demon grabbed her arm and squeezed. She let out a cry. Suddenly lightning shot out of the collar, shocking him. "AHHHH!" he screamed, letting her go and clawing at the collar. it just shocked him until he fell backwards, groaning. "dont try that again you idiot. it'll zap ya." Emily warned. the demon sat up. He stared at her. "I hate you." Emily grinned. "I know you do but you'll just have to live with it...FLUFFY!"
