A New World

As I stepped out side my door,

I looked in wonder at the sight that lay before me.

A pure white sheet of snow,

As fresh as the morning dew,

Covered everything in sight.

I took the first step of many,

That would destroy this new world.

As I walked, eager faces peered out of windows,

Awaiting their moment of freedom,

When their mothers were satisfied.

Some children were already at war,

Their red raw hands and faces not yet admitting defeat.

As I stepped of the road, into the woods,

I was truly satisfied with this new world,

that would sadly be gone in a few hours.
