My Country

A place where I can be free
A place of equal opportunity
A place where a woman can be a doctor
A place where we have choices
A place where I am safe because of heroes—firemen, police officers, and service men and women
These people risk their lives to protect me and my rights
Sometimes they die
Sometimes they are injured or debilitated
But they are always to be admired and loved
And I thank you!
