Candle Light

Dawn's light has fallen,
leaving the night
I sit here a writing,
by only candle light.

Flame flickering to and fro,
as a storm sets in and resides.
The wind slowly picking up,
as the heavens start to cry.

The heat and darkness engulfs me,
quietly as I write.
Slowly dwindling is my sanity,
but my spirit will not lie.

Shadows dance recklessly,
around my candle lit room.
Giving me pictures and feelings,
that we are soon to be doomed.

In turn as I write faster,
my imagination runs rampant.
Writing of such horrible things,
that no heart would repent.

So lost in my world of writing,
I don't hear the footsteps coming.
So deeply focosed on the words,
I don't think to start running.

The dagger comes silently,
While the killer hacks violently,
because ever so quietly,
I keep writing:

Death by Candle Light.
