LOTUS

I have in my hand

A lotus

Pure and white

Soft and smooth

I have in my hand

A lotus

While I am standing

Over a flowing river

I have in my hand

A lotus

Symbolizing that

Which burns within me

I have in my hand

A lotus

Which I want

To give to you

I have in my hand

A lotus

Which I put

Slowly down

Upon the river

And watch it

Being carried away

By the calm waters…

This lotus

Which has no place

In your hand…
