The Geriatric Rat

I feed him baby food because he seems to be thin.
I spend extra time with him because I am afraid he will leave me soon.
He’s so cute even when he looses his balance and falls--something that never happened before.
He doesn’t keep himself up like he used to—his fur isn’t clean.
He walks with a limp and barely holds himself up.
But I love him even still.
