AN: So sorry for not updating in a…month? A month and a half? I don’t know, but I’m sorry. Forgive me and read and review! :)

By the way, This chapter is dedicated to Soulful-Angel. Happy Late Birthday!

Soulmate

Chapter 8

Shori’s POV

“Yo! Over here!” A blond haired man called and beckoned us over. “My name’s Reizo.” He said as Kurumi and I came to the table where Akako and many others were sitting.

It was the afternoon of the day of my horrible, to say the least, encounter with this so-called “Taku” and the…charming sister of Makoto, Kurumi.

“Hello, I’m-” I started, but then abruptly got cut off by Reizo.

“Shori Aromi, I know.” He smiled hugely, revealing shiny, white teeth.

“Correction: We allknow.” A blue haired girl sitting next to Reizo insisted. She turned back to me. “I’m Emi. And I already know who you are. After all, you are the only human here. I could smell you three miles away.”

Ah…so this must be a demon. I think. Or a vampire; I heard somewhere that vampires have a really good smell too. But she looks more like a demon.

“Are you a demon?” Oops. Maybe that was a little bit too straightforward.

Emi looked startled for a second, but then she smiled. “Yup.”

“I’m one too!!” Reizo called out from besides her, waving his arms for my already caught attention.

Emi snorted and reached out to punch his head lightly. I know because she had an amused expression on her face. But apparently, lightly in Emi’s language means his head smashes onto the table with a loud bang, making a dent on the table. A deep dent.

The attacked man cried out in anguish. I don’t know if it was fake or not, probably wasn’t. It did look like it hurt. A lot.

“Oh get over it, you deserved it.” Emi said dryly.

“How did I deserve it…?” He whined, clutching his poor head.

I couldn’t resist a giggle.

“Because you were lying. You’re not a demon. You are…you are…what are you?”

Reizo pouted. “I wasn’t lying, it was just a joke. And I’m an angel! ANGEL!! ANGELS ROCK! FOREVER LIVE THE ANGELS!” He shouted, forgetting the pain in his head. He stood on the seat and made a victory sign with his hand.

The people in the crowded cafeteria merely stared at him like this happened before.

I suppressed the urge to laugh.

The rather…crazy man blinked and then seemed to realize what he was doing. He let out a nervous laugh and slowly sat back down. “Hahaha. Sorry…again.” He called out as he got down from the chair.

Ah-ha, so I was right about this happening before.

Emi rolled her eyes. “You are such a dork.” She resumed eating her food.

I gave into my strong urge to laugh and laughed out loud, clutching my stomach. Akako laughed too, more hysterically than me.

The others just stared. As if feeling eyes boring into her back, Akako quietly down and smiled sheepishly. I soon followed.

“Sorry.” We said at the exact same time and sat down on a chair that was closest to us.

Kurumi cleared her throat and sat down next to me. “Anyway, aside from the series we just saw right now about weird people doing weirder things, I suggest we get down to business.”

I lifted an eyebrow. “What business?”

“You didn’t think that Makoto saving you would be the end of the DTTMAGLTRATD, did you?” Emi said, leaning into the table in interest.

“…” I was silent. Actually, I had been thinking that. Jeeze…so this is why I failed my Logic class…I have no common sense whatsoever.

“What’s the DTTMAGLTRATD?” Akako asked, curiosity clearly shown in her eyes.

“Demons Trying To Make A Good Leader To Rule All The Dimensions. Long title, ain’t it?” Reizo answered, boredom clouding his features.

“Who’s the leader? Or the one who is supposed to be a good leader?” I asked, suddenly frightened. Whoever this ‘leader’ is supposed to be, he was really greedy about power.

“We don’t know.” An unfamiliar female voice replied. Her voice was soft and clouded, like a sad child. I turned to the direction of the voice.

Long, curly, lavender hair and gentle, red eyes that vaguely looked pink. Small hands rested on the table, folded together. Her pale face was half covered by her hair. Even with these startling features, she managed to blend into the background, making me overlook her.

“Who are you?” I asked.

“My name is Gina.” She replied once again in the soft, quiet voice.

“So the fairy finally speaks.” Kurumi commented in a mocking voice. Gina’s eyes briefly glanced at the sister of my guardian’s sister, and they held a sharp edge to them.

I see that they are not quite on good terms…I wonder what happened?

“Back to the topic we are currently discussing, yes, we do not know. Until there is more information obtained, that is.” Emi said a bit too quickly. I sent a quizzical look in her direction. She caught and she replied with a panicked expression of her own. So she was covering for them.

Reizo and Akako remained oblivious to the exchange that passed.

“Can’t we talk about this later? When Makoto is present? I’m dying of boredom!” Reizo cried out pitifully. I gave no pity however because of the thing he said.

“What do you mean? Where is Makoto anyway?” I asked, a pout beginning to form.

“Come to think of it, I never saw him since yesterday. Where did he go anyway?” Emi said.

“He’s not in this dimension right now. He went back to the human world, to try to calm down Shori’s family.” Gina answered her question, not Reizo or Kurumi, which was a surprise to everyone except for Kurumi.

Kurumi’s eyes narrowed. “And how do you know that?”

“He told me right before he left.”

Kurumi snorted. “Figures.”

I wonder what the tension between them is about...Wait!

Makoto’s going to MY house to calm down MY FAMILY?!?!

I have a feeling that all hell is gonna break loose…

AND JUST HOW CLOSE IS MAKOTO AND GINA?!?!

Takeo’s POV

“Where the hell is she?!” I roared when the clock past 5:00 in the afternoon. I was pissed and I was going to show it. How dare she just leave to go off to some place without telling us?!?!

Aiko and I decided that the email that we have received was just a joke from either her or her friends and she had gone out to either party…or stay at some guy’s house. But that seriously doesn’t sound like her. I mean, isn’t she supposed to wait her soulmate or whatever?

Shori, you are 16 years old. Stop acting like a child. No man is gonna ‘save you from this hellhole of a life.’ Ok? Just go out on dates and you can meet your ‘soulmate’ there.”

Oh shit…maybe I shouldn’t have said that. Maybe she took me for real? Maybe she ran away, determined that if her soulmate wouldn’t come to save her from this hellhole of a life, she would do it herself?

DAMN IT! Why does everything go wrong…? Why-

Ding-Dong! Ding-Dong!

That’s our bell!! Maybe Shori came back!

I could see Kira looking at the door from the place where he was crouched in a corner, crying. There was obvious hope in his eyes as he quickly stood up, running for the door on his stout legs. “I’ll get it!!” He said energetically, already at the door. He opened the door.

I strode over to the door and opened the door wider to reveal a boy about Shori’s age with dark brown hair and violet eyes.

“Hello, I’m Makoto Takaji and I am a classmate of Shori’s. I came to deliver her homework.”

AN: Ah, now that that’s finished, I’ll be working on Witch. XP I really have to work on it…

Thank you for the reviews! One more review and it will pass fifty!! I wanna pass sixty though! I know I’m greedy.

People Who Reviewed:

Pinoykengumi7- ACK! So sorry it took this long. (sheepish smile) I’ll try to update faster next time!

Cuddly Sheep- The middle? Could you tell me more specifically where the middle is…? And the details about Akako are in the next chapter. I didn’t want to give every single part of her life at the first chapter she was introduced.

Soulful-Angel- Haha, I almost wrote Kurumi Tatsuki for your name. You know I was kidding when I called you a hag…or maid…or anything else except for the nice things I said to you. I know, I just love leaving cliffhangers. Oh, and who do you want to be a guardian of? Kira (Shori’s younger brother), or Takeo (Shori’s older brother)? Don’t worry; you’ll get your half naked wizard soon. D

Serialcode A- Thank you for your advice! I’ll try to use it.

I love it when the characters fight too! XD It just makes it all the more juicier…

Lolly- If you don’t know how old I am, then how the hell can you tell that I am not supposed to know these words yet? What is I am 16 and I have a very bad writing skill? Or what If I’m a married woman? How would know to tell what to say when you don’t know how old I am? Much less know me?

And excuse me for saying this, but how do you know if chapter 7 is going to ruin the story? Are you the one writing it? No…I am.

I’m sorry; I just had to get that out. The comment about the curse words got on my nerves for a while, that’s all.

GirlyPrince- Oh no, I take no offense for the ‘I don’t want to be rich’ part. I read over it, and it was a piece of crap. I’ll have to revise it someday…

And actually, there are more swears in the last 7 chapters than in your review. :)

GIRLYPRINCE AND LOLLY!!! ATTENTION! PLEASE DO NOT USE MY REVIEW PAGE AS A BATTLEFIELD! AS MUCH AS I LOVE SEEING THE NUMBER OF REVIEWS I GOT, PLEASE, I DON’T WANT TO SEE REVIEWS THAT HAS NOTHING TO DO WITH MY STORY AT ALL! That is all. :)

Review! ;)
