I found it euphoric, walking my dog
She was so full of play
Unbound by her typical chains
I breathed in the world
And smiled in joy
It’d been so long
Since I felt like a boy.
Just through the park and moving to home,
I took just a quick glimpse down at my clothes
There on my jacket a sweet little gift
Given without intention or notice, secret but silent
I stopped with a grin from ear to ear
Her photo came straight into focus, lovely and sweet
And I held her soft strand of hair up to my cheek.
