My Friend Fred

I have a friend, a very special friend. His name is Fred. He’s from Saturn. How do I know this? I accidentally blew up his planet….

Fred is very hard to understand sometimes. He doesn’t speak at all, at least not with words. He makes sounds some of the time, but that’s it. He also does body expressions with his hands, which usually end up slapping my cheek. That is another story altogether though.

When Fred had arrived at earth —after the incident with me blowing his planet up and all— we knew right away, he was…different. This can be said of us, all of us. Fred had come to my humanoid friend and I with nothing, but the clothes on his back. His lime green hair was somewhat charred and his lemon colored skin a bit darker.

He gave each of us a quirky smile and twitched his antennae atop his head. That’s when Fred slapped me. After seeing this, my humanoid friend immediately yelled out “Saturanian!!!” this means a resident from Saturn. How she knew that I may never know. Or it could be that we blew up the planet ten seconds before that…Nah.

All the attempts my friend and I tried to get Fred to talk failed. We didn’t even get to learn his name. His name may not even be Fred, I just named him that. I say may not, because you never know.

As I have said, Fred is from Saturn. But we ask ourselves, how? This has been bothering me for quite awhile. A person from a different planet always keeps fresh new questions in our minds. My humanoid friend and I also wondered how he could have lived on one of the Gas planets. With weeks of teaching things and at the same time learning things from Fred, I got some answers.

I was surprised at first. Over a time of a few weeks I had learned more about another planets history than my own. So I thought it would be very appropriate if I told you about Saturn’s history as well. Before those stupid opportunist scientists say they discovered it before I did.
