My Song

A song sings within my soul

The notes pierce my ears

Scream within my heart

Dig savagely into my flesh.

It is a song of joy

Of sadness

Of love

Of pain

It is the song of my life.

It tries to escape

Climb up my throat

Pierce the air

Free itself from me.

I am scared

Afraid of the thoughts of the world.

The song is mine

It is who I am.

Will the world laugh?

Will the world cry?

A sing sings within my soul

It is mine

And it will remain that way forever
