Giggling belly

A joyful soul.

Screaming eyes

Tear-stained faces

Starving belly

A broken soul.

Two lives

So very different

So very alike.

Both feel joy

Both feel pain

The only difference between the two

Is how the world sees them.

One lets joy shine through

One lets pain shine through.

So very different

Yet so very alike

Identical opposites.

A/N: I don’t know where this one came from... I think it was a poem I wrote as a character sketch for two characters my friend and I used to roleplay on this one website.... I dunno why I bother to post it.... I’ve rid the roleplaying thing from my life.... but I guess I like this poem.... Sort of talks about how the happy people and the sad people of this world are so much alike.... and yet the only difference between the two is how they view the world.... whether they want to take life for the best.... or groan and complain while they’re here.
