The noises will stop
And the earth will be still.
The rain gently caressing
The foliage
Will be the only sound.

The trouble will end
And I will be at peace:
A temporary lifetime
In peace
And I shall retire.

This besieged mind
Will open it's gates
To the relief:
Relieved, I will succumb to whatever it is
That will send me to sleep.
