Written just now, on the spot. A song, perhaps. Maybe you can guess what it's about. It is fictional, by the way, not related to my own experience. Just potential future experience. Unhappy experience.

Here We Stand

Under ripe sky
We stand, you and I
I wonder what you're thinking
I kick myself for bothering

I put myself through this
I asked for this
I pined for this
What was I thinking?

Until dawn we'll stand
Old life in our hands
New life down the drain
Because you asked me to

You're brooding again
I once thought you beautiful
I once thought you wonderful
I once stood there blind

Refusing to tear you down
Beneathtruth's light
Refusing to reclaim what was mine
Refusing to own any dignity

You're brooding again
And you think it's okay
And you think you're right

Like that night, here we stand
Old life once in our hands
Discarded now,put down the drain
Because you asked me to

Forgiveness is a virtue
But you haven't earned it yet
And in reality's glaring light
I have to say I don't think
You ever will

Again, here we stand
Old life out of our hands
Future life exterminated
Because you asked me to
