Gone

I guess you’re gone again,

And should I be surprised?

Maybe I chased you away with the pain that filled my eyes.

The pain the clouded my heart

And stopped me from being happy.

And the smiles that I faked for the world that you always said were phony;

But I did smile for you!

Doesn’t that mean a thing?

Maybe you left to find a soul that resembled spring,

Unlike mine which reminds you of winter.

Maybe you left for a person

Whose love for life is their center,

Unlike me whose pain and darkness is all that matters.

I guess you’re gone again.

Should I try to change?

Maybe if I change, you’ll come home to me again.

But if you don’t, I’ll keep on being me.

Even if there’s someone better, every action has a fee.

I predict someday you’ll feel my pain,

Someday soon you’ll wake up to realize...

“I guess she’s gone again.”
