Fears

I lie awake staring at the door

He’s there again

But maybe if I’m quiet enough

He’ll go away

But he never does…

His icy hands caress my neck

I close my eyes so hard

And pray my life away

“please save me!”

I lie on my back and stare at up at my destiny

And realise I cannot move

Strong arms pinning me down

Nowhere to run

His hot body grasping me tight

I almost cannot breathe

Nothing more to do now

But wait until he lets go

But he never does

Until he gets what he came for

My body becomes so tense

And he sighs with great relief

He is nothing but a shadow again

And I close my eyes and weep

My body so limp and lifeless

I’ve become nothing
