SHADOW

Shodow's world is a complexity. He waits in the darkness. But the darkness is shadow's friend.

He searches for something. Unbeknown to those around him, Shadow stalks his silent prey. His breath escapes in haggard whispers that engulf the submerging twilight. And Shadow sees. He knows.

She stands illuminated under the streetlights. A delicate face adorns her elegant poise, curves blending into one sinuous line, accentuated by the light from above.

A brazen hunter preys upon his chosen victim. Shadow forces himself upon her, greed and lust suspending his ever present aura above her helpless form as she struggles aimlessly and gasps for breath.

Harder and harder, Shadow revels in the moment as she continues to fight. But Shadow pushes her down. His hands deftly caress her silken skin. True beauty...

And then she is still.

New blood stains the tainted streets of the city, and new blood lays thick upon Shadow's tangent, weary palms.

A single raindrop falls, as if in silent memorial for the great loss suffered that night.

And Shadow moves on, his footsteps echoing into the stillness of the dark alleyway. His shoulders are slumped, although he feels no grief. For Shadow, the night is just beginning.
