I’m trying to break free of the

Collective of individuals

But I’m just another drone

Of this mass produced society

I try to like jazz

But it’s never quite as good

As the latest rock

I try to like coffee house coffee

But Starbucks tall mocha

Tastes so much better

I try to be a bohemian

But I’m just a shallow teen

I try to be polite

But I’m an airhead

I’m probably a chav

But people say I’m a snob

I try to fit in

I’m sorry

I try to be what glossy magazines

Say I should be

I try to wear sun cream

But it makes me itch

I try to eat organically

But I like McDonalds

And coca-cold

Sorry, small fry diners

Does it really matter

If I watch soaps?

Will the world end

If I drink a Pepsi?

If I prefer chick lit

To the classics,

Am I less of an intellect?

Maybe I’m not highbrow

Maybe I’m not an artistic savant

Maybe I like glossy magazines

Maybe I’m not perfect

But I’m honest.
