The moon shone brightly, soaking the world in silvery-blue light. The air was hanging deadly quiet, sweating in the humidity of the August night. One could almost see the air.
Sempre
A shadow flitted in the darkness, churning the thick air like a spoon a thick stew. The silence in the silver-drenched land made the quiet footsteps ring, gunshots in the moonlit night. But it didn't matter; as the thick air suppressed the sound as it settled down again. The shadow glided slowly to its destination.
Sim, sempre os mãos
Its destination came into view, a castle ruin glowing silver-black in the bright moonlight, rising in the distance like a soul from the dead. The shadow disappeared into the castle as if it had never existed. It reappeared in the middle of a bedchamber and its eyes shone hard white in the silver-blue moonlight as they rested upon a small, thin figure in the bed next to it.
lacrimeja a sangue
The shadow's hands dripped crimson as it flitted back outside the castle. A heart lay on the floor next to the bed, the sound of its beating fading away like footsteps in sand.
Sempre os mãos...
Author's Note: er...heheh... Many apologies for the very bad Portuguese; I just recently started learning. "Sempre os mãos" means/ is supposed to mean "always the hands;" "Sim" means "yes;" "Lacrimeja a sangue" means/is supposed to mean "cry blood."
