Drip, Blink, Drip, Blink, Blink, Close

By: Stephanie Ham

Drip, drip, drip goes the blood on the paper

While I scribble down my last goodbyes.

Red spots on the paper blur the words,

Hard to see you can barely make it out.

2 letters to mom, one paragraph to dad

Mom's is sweet and nice, dad's is everything

I wish I could have said 4 years ago.

I scratch out the letters to all of my friends

By now it's getting dark, cold and lonely.

A desolate world you live in

Turning a dismal gray.

World spinning around you

The lights go out.

Drip, drip, drip goes the blood from your wrist

Onto the floor it forms a puddle.

Blink, blink, blink goes your eyes

As you whisper your final goodbyes.

Blink, blink close

Your final breath, in through the nose.

Out like a light

Shut goes your eyes

Goodbye to the world

To feel pain, nevermore.
