My walk in the dark

As I walk home

I’m scared

I’m scared because it is late

Really late

All these rapes and murders we hear on TV

What if there’s someone waiting

To jump out and kidnap me?

What would I do?

Would I scream?

What if they had a knife?

Or a gun?

There’s only one more alley to home

But that’s where it’s going to happen

I know it will

You offered to walk me home

Oh, why did I decline?

I’ll have to take my chance

And run

Let’s just hope I don’t become famous

For the wrong thing

Like Millie

Who’s family will never see her again

N.B. for all those who don’t know who Millie is, she was a girl who was kidnapped and murdered. They still haven’t found her body.
