Chapter 2: Information and teams

At the Secretarial planet rumors were buzzing around in classrooms about the recent breakout. Involving one of the most powerful forces in the universe. A teacher hushed them, “Now I’m sure that you all have heard of the recent escape.” The class nodded silently urging her to continue. “The faculty on this planet has decided that physical education is of the utmost importance at this time…”

One girl at the back of the class jumped up in joy, “Hells yes!”

“Stupid Pangeans.” One boy mumbled loud enough for her to hear.

Her eyes went red, “What did you say you ignoramus?”

“That you are a stupid Pangean. Is there something wrong with that?” His voice was smooth yet calm with a hint of spite in it. To a lot of the girls at school he was a cute teenager with an attitude, to Amari he was an idiot with his normal smirk. His shoulder length dark, dark purple hair and uncaring red eyes is what most girls found attractive. Along with his long black trench coat that flew behind him when he walked.

She growled at him, “You are an idiot! You just hate our planet because we can actually have fun! While you and your stupid race practice some crap that I don’t even care about!” Normally Amari wouldn’t even bother to fight back against him but then again he never did insult her home planet. Amari was a person who was odd yet a team player. Osaki and her had always been squabbling even in grade school they were fighting which caused her school portfolio to keep growing in size. Amari had trouble making purple-red eyes and long purple hair that was tied into a low ponytail with two bells at the very bottom of it. Her attire was normally her training uniform, an old priestess outfit but this one was mauve instead of red.

“Amari! Hold you tongue! Their race is most important, they are the ones that control the very fabric of time.” The teacher scolded, “And you Osaki you shouldn’t be saying that type of stuff at a time like this. Now both of you apologize.” Amari and Osaki said what they had to and went back to listening to the teacher talk. “As I was saying the faculty has decided that physical education is very important at this time. Now when you are not in PE then you shall be practicing your gifts.” The students nodded, “Now. You shall be put into groups for this; twelve people shall be in this group. This means that there will be a person with each of the powers we were gifted with. And for everyone in this room that can control minds, if any of the faculty find that you have been using that power to control your fellow group members we will have to expel you. That said here are the groups.”

‘Please don’t put me with that stuck up jerk.’ Amari thought.

‘If I’m with her I don’t think that I could survive. She is very repulsive, even for a Pangean.’

“…Max from Pangea, Kate from Pangea, Eve from Neptune, Cassandra from Mars, May from Venus, Nyla from Pangea, Peter from Pangea…” At this the girls in that group gave silent prayers to their teacher. Peter was one of the most popular guys on that planet. He had back length gray-purple hair and chestnut brown eyes. Peter just gave a long sigh and let the teacher continue on. “Clara from Pangea, Chi from Mercury, Karla from Pangea, and the last two are…” The teacher laughed, “This shall be interesting, Amari from Pangea and Osaki from Jupiter.”

“Awe. Why me? Why do I have to be stuck with that idiot?” Amari asked the girl beside her. Or better known as Nyla.

“Huh? What? Did you say something Amari?” Nyla asked coming out of her daze. Nyla had purple eyes and green hair that was about shoulder length give or take a few centimeters with a flower on the left side of her ear. Her entire outfit was green, the main article of clothing was a skin tight green strapless top. The bottoms were a pair of faded jeans, and the arms was a glove that went up to about the top of the arm but came short about three inches with see through silk like fabric coming off of the gloves. The accessories were two golden armlets that were right above the gloves that she normally wore, as well as a golden necklace like belt with a red jewel in the middle of it.

“Don’t worry about it Amari, it could be worse.” Chi told her best friend. Chi was a girl with one of the most well developed powers that her entire race had seen in a long time, with her bright blue-green eyes that were always full of life and her knee length hair. To say the least she was one of the most wanted girls on the entire planet. But the one person who she wanted desperately was one of the people who was always picking on her best friend his name was, Osaki. She ignored all other boys except Osaki; she was one of the normal love struck teenager girls.

“Really? How?” Amari asked.

“I’m…not sure.” Chi grinned sheepishly.

“Hey! Come on! Cheer up Amari! Think of it this way we don’t have to learn anything.” Kate said cheerfully. She had neck length pink hair and bright purple eyes that always shone with mirth.

“Definitely I mean who really wants to do school work?” Clara commented. She was the fastest person on her home world with the markings on her legs, arms, and middle this made her a well-respected person on Pangea where the rest of her family and other with the same powers lived. She had messy shoulder length brown hair that she always kept out of her way with her blue headband that matched her blue eyes.

“I agree with these two.” Karla piped up from where she was sitting, when she moved her head her mid-back length light bluehair moved with her and her all-knowing brown eyes always got her out of little fights in the school. That and her tarot cards.

May nodded eagerly beside them. Her fox like ears were twitching in agreement and her red eyes were full of light and childish glee. Her blond-brown lower-back length hair was staying in place as her ears twitched and her head nodded. “What do you think Eve?”

“I…um…guess it’s OK.” Her sorrow filled navy blue eyes looked at her teammates and looked back down at the table allowing her short navy blue hair to fall over her eyes.

“It’s AWESOME!” Peter exclaimed.

“…I wouldn’t say it’s ‘awesome’ so I guess it’s would be…pretty cool.” Max commented. His spiked brown hair and deep and dark purple eyes looking around the class as they normally did.

“I would rather be studying if you ask me.” Cassandra said her blood red eyes looked at everyone. She stood up forcefully making her long black hair fly, “This is a horrible thing. One of the most notorious and dangerous criminals is out there somewhere and all you guys can think of is having no work?” Cassandra looked outraged. She sat down after she had said her bit.

“Why can’t you just be happy for once Cass?” May asked her ears drooping at her loud talking.

“Because.”

“Because why?”

“Just…because.”

“I could tell you why.” Karla said.

“If you do then I’ll set you on fire.” Cassandra warned. “You and those cards.”

“And if you do then I’ll just heal her.” Kate said with a smile on.

“Fine. Go ahead.” Cassandra said while getting up and asking the teacher if she could be excused to go to the washroom.

“All right. When Naoki was still roaming the galaxy looking to destroy the entire solar system she decided to go after the Elementals. Seeing as they were the most powerful race next to the one who inhabited Jupiter…” As Karla spoke images of this filled their heads.

FLASHBACK

On Mars it was chaotic. People running around screaming, ushering every member of their family into their homes. And the ones that were lucky enough to be in the palace where with the strongest element users. It was in no time at all that Naoki and her group appeared in the sky seeking out the royal family. Queen Joan, King Varian, Prince Maruun, and Princess Cassandra. Cassandra was standing tall while getting ready to fight even though she was only five. The King made them go in to hiding with the others, ignoring her plea to stay and help her father her mother lifted her up and they ran down the hallway. “M-mommy…will d-daddy be OK?” Cassandra asked through her crying.

“I-” The wall in front of them crumbled and a man in his teens to early twenties stepped through the hole while drawing his sword.

“Now what do we have here?” He looked at the crowns that they all bore on their heads, “A queen, a prince and a princess. And here I thought that I had found servants. Master Naoki will be very impressed when I bring you three to her.” The man laughed at them. But was soon trapped in a cage made of fire.

“Maruun, Cassandra…run. I cannot hold him for long.”

“Come on Cassandra I’ll protect you.” Maruun grabbed her hand and lead her through the winding castle not looking back even when they heard a loud ear-piercing scream that belonged to a woman. Maruun wiped his eyes and continued to run with Cassandra following right behind him. A woman that looked exactly like their mother appeared in front of them.

“Mommy!” Cassandra cried and went to her only to be stopped by Maruun’s hand.

“That…monstrosity is not our mother.” Maruun stated.

“M-Maruun…how could you say that? She IS our mother. Look!” Cassandra once again tried to break free but Maruun held her back but with more force this time.

“Die impostor!” Maruun yelled as he sent all of the elements speeding towards the woman. The person changed into a bird and flew to safety. “Cassandra is that our mother? The one that we have known since birth? The one that is dead?” Maruun had tears in his eyes but he wiped them with his free hand.

“Very, very clever little boy.” The woman changed into her true form. “As I would expect for the next heir to the thrown.”

“Who are you and what do you want here?” Maruun demanded.

“My name is Isis. Named after a god, which I am. As for what I want…I want the heir’s to the thrown. Now be good little brats and come here.”

“Cass. Run. Run now, run fast and don’t turn back no matter what. You got it?” Maruun prepared for battle. Cassandra nodded and took off, not listening to the screams of people around her, nor the scream of her older brother. She just ran and ran. That was until she ran into a woman with ice colored hair.

“Now who do we have here? A servant girl?” Cassandra thought that this was Naoki. “Or a princess?” Cassandra backed away from her. Three people came into view each one with scrapes on them but with people draped over their shoulders. “Ah! Well done, well done. The Queen,” The man that Cassandra saw earlier grinned and roughly put down the queen, “The Prince,” The woman who pretended to be her mother put down her brother on the hard marble floor, “And the King.” A man set him down with great care as if he still respected the man.

Cassandra’s eyes blazed with fire, “You! You’re the traitor! How dare you come back here! How dare you kill my father! How dare you…” Cassandra whispered over and over again.

“You father…was a weakling!”

Cassandra looked up at him, “He was you friend! Now look what you have done to him! You have killed my family! I have nothing left! How do you feel about that traitor? Killing your best friend. I once thought that you had a heart!”

“Shut up girl! Your father had a chance to live! I gave it to him; I offered him a chance to receive ultimate power. But instead he chooses to die and protect his worthless kingdom and family. That is what I call a fool.”

“DIE TRAITOR!” Cassandra burst into flames and charged at him at full speed. Naoki froze her in her place.

“Killing you would be worthless. But once you know how to use your powers without your anger controlling you. It might be a good idea for you to join us, but until then you have a planet to run.” With that Naoki left with the other twelve.

END FLASHBACK

“I didn’t know that she had such a horrible life.” Chi commented. The others just nodded.

“Hey! I have an idea! Why don’t we throw her a party.” May said her ears perking up again. “You know because we’re going to be working together and all it would be awesome! And the cake, and thedecorations, and…and…and.” SIGH “This is going to be so much fun!” May said plopping into her chair.

“You know what May is totally right. I mean like she would like have so much like um…fun!” Nyla said.

“Then it’s settled. We throw a party.” Chi said happily.
