Last Wishes

From behind the curtains

She watches the scenes,

Of all she's ever known

And what she's learned to be.

Sitting silently and contemplating

How all of a sudden

Her life could be ripped at the seams.

Taking it in, overwhelmed with fear,

She prays, 'I will not shed a tear.'

With time slipping by

Her hope melts to sand,

And she drifts into a world of her own;

Her private, intellectual neverland.

Memories she's made, and ones that

Would be to come, will not fill her head

For the end had begun.

Floating carelessly and whispering to no one

She recites, 'I will not shed a tear.'

Left out from pleasure

But awakened for the misery,

Her forgotten words were

Taken lightly, not to heart.

She dips her frozen finger

Into the lifeless pond.

Draws her clawed hand

To her fragile visage.

Her porcelain features need not rejuvination,

Still she bathes her face, ridding herself

Of his sins. The virginal waters redeeming

Her soul, the strength is given to her

To resume control.

She recites

'My tears have been shed,

Those who have trespassed have been forgiven.

With this life's last lines, I bless

All those who have done me wrong

With my poison lips' final kiss.

Awakened has been my trail of tears,

And for you, a single shep shall not be taken.

Left alone I must be to end this journey.

Save me your love cannot;

Will I not drown in your hate.

The path that leads me into

My fate, be walked by it is the one

Who opens my heart and stitches the wounds.

What only lusting may teach, through

My days I have learned.

No matter how thou beseeched,

Never should I have revealed my truths.

But now that you have seen the shades of mine own truth,

Tell me, was it worth it to thou?'
