I'm Sorry

I’m sorry if I’ll forget your name
As I walk on my yellow brick road
To the lost Emerald City of
My forbidden euphoria

I’m sorry if I’ll forget your name
For there is too much for me to see
From the towers of the cities, to the
Runes left over in ashes

I’m sorry if I’ll forget your name
There are too many places where I need to go
I have my life over my shoulder
As I make my way through the world

I’m sorry if I’ll forget your name
There are too many places I need to see
From the rivers to mountains
And everything in between

I’m sorry if I’ll forget your name
For there are too many for me to learn
Like the street venders, and painters,
Of all those better than me

I’m sorry if I’ll forget your name
The places I travel will take my time and my mind
To a region that is shaded and forbidden
A labyrinth of utter confusion

I’m sorry if I’ll forget your name
For I am making a path for myself
So that I may finally learn the secret
Behind my very own name

I’m sorry if I’ll forget your name
For life will have given me so much
But once I return to you
It will ring as clear as day
