Chapter Three

Rhian stepped down onto the main floor, dropping her cloak off at a desk that held such things as that. She watched the other demons/creatures turn to look in her direction as she moved her hips to the music. Her arms went over her head as her fingers entwined in her loosely curled blonde hair that ended mid-back. A sly grin played across her face as everyone parted to let her pass to where she wanted to be.

Kaden watched her with eyes glowing and a heat wave flushing over him. He had never seen such a creature with such undefined beauty. The females that swarmed around him were ones that wanted to be like him… or have him… one of the two. None of them even remotely came close to this woman who headed in his direction. He brought his wings in for the night as they diminished back into the two tattoos of wings on his back that were covered in a black silk shirt as she approached. When she stood right in front of him, turning slowly as she danced, he watched her contently… trying not to grab her up and ravage her right there. He noticed her eyes… a unique dark blue… both the iris and pupil containing such a vibrant color whereas his were completely black including the sclera.

His hands made their way softly to her hips as she turned to move her body against his. He could feel her vibrating with life as his hands moved over her slowly, taking in her scent. Kaden turned her roughly to face him… watching the sly grin on her face while he made his way back to her bare hips and belly.

Rhian hadn’t been touched like this before in her entire life. She enjoyed it… but part of her hated to have it end. This music was something that she had never heard before and it made her body want to do things that were meant to be made in the privacy of her home. There was something in his eyes though… something that seemed to be soft… yet rough. She had to keep reminding herself that he was a demon and nothing more, but his eyes kept making her question that…

End it… end it now before you get in too deep… a voice sternly commanded her in her mind. She turned in her movements against him, their bodies still touching, her body glistening now with perspiration. Unlatching her dagger, she slid it along her body and went for the kill as she moved her arm behind her for the thrust… Her breath caught as the dagger was removed forcefully from her hand. When she slowly stopped moving, Kaden moved closer to her as he moved the dagger to the left side of her neck, whispering in Rhian’s ear on the same side.

“Why would you want to do a stupid thing as this?” he whispered in a voice that made her skin ripple in goose bumps and a tingle flow down her spine. It was deep with a slight rumble that made her quake.

What’s wrong with me? She whispered to her consciousness as she tried to shake the feeling.

He slid the blade along her neck, cutting it slightly. He watched the crimson drink flow from her. Dragging his tongue along her sweet moist skin, he looked up to signal the guards. He felt her slightly flinch beneath him as he tasted her. It was euphoria. Something about this woman was different… Just from the very first sight of her, it made his insides flip like no other woman had ever done to him. His mind felt confused as he tried to make sense of everything. He didn’t know if he was equipped or even ready for these feelings that this woman possessed within her to make him feel. Kaden moved his hands down from her shoulders to her arms, gripping her fiercely. When the guards moved in front of them he thrust her forward to them.

He watched her as they left. The mystery woman briefly turned and gave him a questionable look. It wasn’t one of terror or fear of any kind. It was more a look of confusion like his own. Wiping the corners of his mouth to savor what was left of the woman he decided to take his leave.

Rhian had been brought into a dungeon where she had been tied up with her arms above her head and her toes just barely missing the floor. She could hear screams coming from other cells of where she resided. She had been stripped of her clothing and was left with only thin garments to at least cover her private areas.

She didn’t know what had come over her or why she didn’t fight back. She just let the guards take her there without a word spoken. From there she was led into the cell and tied. The three guards only did as they were told and then left her in the dark. She couldn’t figure out what was going on or where she failed.

“Seven days… Seven days…” she repeated to herself as she hung there. She still had time to complete her mission. Shaking her head, she got to work on escaping.

Rhian pulled herself up and used the wall to bring herself upside down which put a lot of stress on her wrists. She almost had the ropes untied when she heard someone coming down the hall. Flipping herself right again, she stilled her movements by placing her feet to the wall. The cell door opened and she watched as the three guards entered again and a woman came up from behind them. She moved to some torches on the walls where she lit them with a simple spell. The woman had raven hair with matching eyes. Her attire was one of a long flowing velvet gown that swept the floor as she moved and emphasized on non-existent parts of her body.

“Well, this is the woman who threatened our darling Kaden?” the woman spoke with a poisonous voice.

“Yes, Mistress,” the guards answered in unison as they stood straight with their hands behind their back.

“Now why would you want to do such a thing as that?” the woman asked Rhian.

“I have my reasons which do not concern you,” Rhian calmly replied.

“Gentlemen, bring me my toys,” the woman waved her arm before moving closer to her prisoner, “When it concerns my brother, it concerns me.”

Rhian watched as the guards came back into the room carrying a tote that the woman opened and placed items of some concern on the wooden table next to Rhian.

“You will give me the answers I seek… one way or another,” she smiled as she picked up a knife and walked towards Rhian.

“Mistress Talia, Master Kaden said not to touch the woman,” one of the guards dared to say.

“My dear brother Kaden isn’t here, now is he?” Talia turned her head slightly in anger before turning back to the task at hand, grinning once more.

Rhian just stared at the woman with no emotion as she took the knife and cut off the last remnants of clothing she wore. Talia grabbed another tool from the table and resumed her place. Rhian raised one of her hands and tried to summon an electric ball to hit the woman with and make her attempt at escaping. The woman only laughed at her while she looked up at the fizzles of a disintegrated ball.

“Do you really think we are that stupid to not put an enchantment spell over these cells? If we didn’t do you think we would be here, much less you?” Talia only continued to laugh vindictively. Rhian held a deep pang of anger that she couldn’t do anything about this. She held her breath as over the next two hours the torturing was endured. What finally broke her was when they cut her down and tied her to a table to throw salt water over her mangled body.

Kaden had finally returned home after doing much thinking. He had decided to release the woman, question her as to her motives and to find out what her name was. When he entered his underground castle he noticed that the maids were whispering when he entered the foyer. He walked over to one of the smaller women and asked her what was going on.

“I’m… I’m sorry Master Kaden, but we were sworn not to tell,” she trembled.

“If you don’t tell me, I’ll make you wish you had,” his eyes flared when his sister’s name came to him. She was the only one who could try to keep anything a secret from him.

“It’s Mistress Talia. She made us swear we would not tell you where she was.”

“Go to my room and bring some cloths and hot water as well as my herbs. Do not let anyone enter my room unless it is me. Do you understand, Cora?” Kaden ordered. When he got a nod in answer, he released her to do what he needed. He didn’t need anyone to explain what his dark sister was up to.

Kaden headed towards the dungeons knowing Talia would be there. He pounded his feet against the ground as he walked with a flare on his face when he reached the end of the dungeon and saw his guards blocking the entrance to one of the cells. From beyond he heard a bone chilling scream. His non-exsistent pulse started to race as he tried to get through the door to only have it tightly blocked.

“Move!” Kaden demanded. His anger rose even more when they didn’t budge.

“I’m sorry, Master, but Mistress Talia gave us orders not to let you in,” the one on the right responded.

“You dare deny the orders of the King? She is not your master… I am. Now move!” he barked again, watching them flinch as they felt the walls tremble beneath his voice.

When they still didn’t part the way, Kaden took a deep breath and growled at them as he unsheathed his fangs. Bringing his hands before him, he threw the three hundred pound men out of his way and against the back of the empty cells on the sides of them. With one motion of his hand he brought the doors to a slamming close, jamming them shut.

Kaden entered the room to see his sister flashing her devilish grin and finally saw the nude woman he had met earlier… collapsed on a wooden board with blood everywhere. She had been soaked to the bone with the salt water. Her wounds were already starting to wilt even more. Sweeping past his sister he ripped the bounds from the woman. Wrapping his silk shirt over her he picked her up in his arms and walked from the room before stopping in front of his sister.

“This is the last time you defy me, Talia. I will not show mercy again,” he growled low, giving her a look of death.

“Why do you care about this simple cow? She is only food for us to enjoy! I thought you would be happy to be rid of her. You are too much of a softy,” Talia laughed.

“Do not come near this woman or me. Otherwise I will kill you.”
