Introduction:
It had been a couple of years since I had given a fake name and come to the school headed by Lauren Smith. I had been attempting to learn everything and anything that I could about my mother and father. I couldn’t ever recall hearing my mother’s name given to me, but it was quit easy to find, knowing that she used to be the leader. The problem was if I looked too much or made it too obvious that I wanted to know all of this it might become obvious who I was, or make other suspicious of me. My mother’s name had been Christine Sophie Adrian and she had, according to most of the books I read anyway, been one of the best, if not the best, ruler that our people had seen in ages. Although there were books that said she was one of the worst, but most said one of the better. She had ruled fairly and kept peace up until it was discovered that she had died and that she had had a child unknown to all. This meant that no one could take the thrown by present law until the heir was found and given the option of taking over or rejecting the offer. How they had come about the realization of y existence I couldn’t be sure and none of the books helped on this matter. With no one to govern them they where starting to fall into legend, fighting over current laws and for control, along with being discovered by the humans who knew of our existence, and hunted us, from seer stupidity caused by no one leading them. Although there were some who where not stupid and where unluckily caught. With all that I had found out about my mother, I was not able to really find anything out about my father, and I knew his name. All I had found out about him I discovered by eavesdropping in some of the teachers conversations. I had found out that he led a secret organization, well at least it used to be secret, and that the organization wanted to take over governing. With this knowledge I guessed that they where going to use me to govern with by making me believe what they wanted me to believe instead of what was current law and what my mother believed in. With as much as I had learned about my biological birth mother, it still didn’t fill enough, I still wanted to know more, especially about my father.
Aside from knowledge of my ancestry I had come quit far with my gift, which I affectionately called it now since I had it under control and could use it as a gift. Even though I had come to know of my gift and this whole other group of people after nearly everyone in the school, I was still one of the more powerful of my age group. I had learned to control every aspect of my gift to near perfection, not to mention learning of other gifts that I could use and some enchanted spells. I had learned you could either use wordless spells, incantations, or even either of those with a potion like recipes, made by you or someone else. This was just a brief description of what I had learned. What I was capable of doing I wasn’t completely sure, since I often held my gift back. I was afraid if I didn’t that I would hurt someone or break something.
Along the lines of friends I had made quit a few and I didn’t believe that I had any enemies, just friendly rivalries when power was involved. It was for the most part harmless fun, but every once in a while we might take it up a bit too far, but for the most part it was innocent fun. I still kept in touch with Beth, telling her everything that happened and she reported what was happening there. She told me that Mr. Demeter remained employed at the school, but it didn’t make her question me in any way. She was also the one who convinced my mom I was all right by showing her one of my letters, minus the address. I owed Beth big time and I told myself that one-day I’d return all the favors she had done, and may still do for me. One day, but for now I was going to maintain my fake identity, the only problem being that I didn’t know how long I had before my true identity was discovered.
