(and then everything will be better)

You learn the name of the haunting melody
It drifts from your silver casing
To the smoky backlit ceiling
You're quiet and pondering
The trembling notes and their pathetic imagery
You drew a heart on white-pink fabric
Dotted it with a bloodied signature
Did you get lost in the whisperings?
The music swells to a blaze of psychopathy
Then settles in a quiet valley
You're laying in the perfumed flowers
Of a mind, a garden pure
A ballad to remember a spoiled name
Rotted oak panels and no reasons
Violas carry your floating body
You ride a rainbow to the parties
Where you feel you'll belong
Only once you sew your red eyes shut
And open a willing red mouth
To a crate of red wine
And answer awkward questions
Dreaming of starlight or a cyanide pill
To carry you against your will
Into the soothing voices of a mud-encrusted world
You mind is cramping surely, now
Your heart is beating faster, now
You're locked inside a tight embrace
You're panicking, a pretty face
But all you see are instruments
You can taste the rhythm of the silence
The sequined mirror of an afterglow
The savour of a dream gone cold
And screaming loud, you feel it grow
The garden falls beneath your feet
The shining air begins to thin
Silver casing surrounding you
You are the music now, you shine
Within the light of a thousand waterfalls
But who is there to pick you up?
Or checks your pulse with bated breath?
It's simpler than this, or maybe just louder
You're lost in the words of a nameless tune
You've got your mother's pretty eyes
Old enough to know better
Too young to die
That's what they said
Was it, a lie?
