Starry Night

The sea of sky
Swirls in stupor,
With churning dust that contorts itself,
Guided by silver hooves that
Prance and gallop
With vividness and vibrance,
Whirring across the endless blue.

A dragon dance! Each of them,
They twirl around
Like great spirits of dust,
All enveloping the sky with
Their cries and roars.
The moon is like their beating drum,

It glows a ripe yellow that
Reflects the imminent ecstasy of swishing
Brush tips breathing life
Upon the cypress, the town
Its quaint lights,
And the blinking stars –
They try to tell me something.

And when I see that starry scene,
I know I’m happy too
(While still amidst the sorrow).
