Crucified on the podium
There were a couple vital controversies going around involving church vs. state arguments. This term means the government pledged a neutral system that claims justice in people lives, and is free and open to anyone of any color, religion sexuality, opinion, or anything else. Yet through the years the government has lied to itself and denied the prescribed rules, subtly sometimes, but surely breaking its own laws for the sake of some politician’s cheeky opinion.
Yet one must incorporate the fact that politicians are individuals too, and they have the right to do what they believe in, if it be religious or not, something as trivial as ones faith is more than a heated subject for most humans. So naturally if everyone has a right to express him or herself, why would that have to change for a politician? It doesn’t, but when that person is trying to attain justice for everyone, whether they believe it or not, the people should get what they want, especially if it’s involved in the job description. There is no such thing as justice, but we are closer to said subject if we shoot for something close to equality.
But there is a specific case involving Father Gilbert Gauthe, and the act of him raping scores of squirrelly boys. This was looked at in the court of law but somehow the government worked its way around this situation, for the reason that he was a part of the clergy, he was let go of the charges and was able to return to the church (1984). It wasn’t until 1989, until the press discovered pieces of the event and exposed, causing some government officials to give in to an extent (probably terrible excuses).
In the beginning of my statement I stated that there are responsibilities that should be expected of the government to maintain, and by no means should anyone’s personal belief be pushed onto someone else’s life. By the government letting something like this go that opens many windows of opportunity for other criminals involved in a religious sect. Crime, weather religious based or not is punishable by law, it shouldn’t matter, especially when others are being hurt in those situations. But unfortunately in the end the reverend only suffered a fee of so and so dollars, and continued on, completely disregarding the fact that others are being hurt in his priestly escapade.
My opinion of church vs. state is that there shouldn’t have to be a battle, there shouldn’t have to be any confrontation, when clearly church is interfering with any idealization of justice. The least that can be done by our government is simply listen to the people, fight for everyone as best they can, incorporate all people without hurting others. It is not fair to those children who were likely permanently scarred, to have to live their lives knowing that that man can just as easily do what he did again to any unsuspecting victim. Religion should not be an exception.
I believe we need to respect each other and ourselves, incorporate everyone, because we are all individuals, and all need different things. I am not sure how much I can do to stop this dilemma, but I know that I will fiercely protest the idea of considering any type of argument of church vs. state. The government abused their power and they get no consequences, government officials have banned gay marriage because it isn’t written in the bible that they can do that, it wasn’t in the constitution that the same sex could get married, when we all know that all those friggin pilgrims were devoted to the belief in god.
My guess is that if they based things on religion back then they probably weren’t any more afraid of getting reprimanding then they are now. This tells us that the government has no reason but personal dislike, and possibly craze, to prove gay marriage is a bad choice. And in government decisions must be logic based and efficient (if possible) so the current government is going to sentence American to further tyranny, and to be quite honest there are so many things that are being subconsciously controlled by the influence of the US that we are really practically communists in the closet. That will be all for my piece on the crucifiction of every person in America, every free mind burned at the stake, into ashes ground into the presidents chocolate milk, thank you I hope you have enjoyed.
