In Crawls a Craze

Same mangled old body, same tired old skin,
Change all about me. Just rubble within.
Been feeling regretful for piling up sins:
Please, let me get out or let me come in.

Been pacing the corners and scratching the walls,
Stocking up trickery, stringing the dolls,
Poising my phsyce for one of those falls,
Poking the damage to see if it crawls.

Burning with fire to see if it plays,
Burnt to a crisp, yet unbent in my ways,
Reliving tomorrows, forgetting today's,
Waiting and hoping that this is a craze.

October 3, 2003.
