It is power, human power,

electric and wild and tactless as a child

that has broken like the crest of an untamable wave.

The feral jungle, the harsh savanna,

the unreachable heights and jagged peaks,

thwart and thrill the human heart no longer;

our push and shove is stronger

than the simple words that nature speaks.

Oh, Providence you lover

and destiny of souls

You trust in goodness as a mother

must, but in your tender faith

the slender wraith of lust deceived your lovely eye.
