Death Trap
The screeching of tires, the smell of rubber.
Creating bright flames, speeding underneath the moon.
The breeze, it challenges me to go faster.
Pressing the petal, feeling the rage burn.
Sure I’m a show off, but I don’t care.
I’ve just got to prove that I’m not a coward.
Losing control, my adrenaline just rises higher.
The car rolls, and I feel the tar beneath my back.
Now I lie on a lonely road, a broken young man.
I just smile as I look at the stars, smelling the blood that surrounds me.
With my last breath, I scream, “I told you, I can do anything!”
A stupid dare, that’s why I lie dead,
But I didn’t care, because I had proven I was the best.
