Author’s notes:This is afolk song I wrote for my story Dragondust. Feedback whether it works as a folksong or not greatly appreciated. FPcom messes up with my format. :S

Moonlight on dark waters

Come, O come, and sing the route

Of the moon that shines on us, lass.

Play the cymbals, play the flute,

Dance on seashores, dance on grass.

Hail, the moonlight on dark waters!

Dance, moon-sisters! Dance, sea-daughters!

--

Like the mist on high waters,

And like the ghosts of ships and sails,

Swirl, our wives and our daughters,

In moonlight full of lore and tales.

Hail, the moonlight on dark waters!

Dance, moon-sisters! Dance, sea-daughters!

--

Now our nets a silver lace,

Now her glory and now her might!

Sing her glory, dance her grace,

And come and hail the queen of night!

Hail, the moonlight on dark waters!

Dance, moon-sisters! Dance, sea-daughters!
