A Song for the Soul

-

Bright, blinding

Merciless lights

Dark, lifeless faces

Empty stage

-

Alone on the mountain

Above the world

Alone, alone!

No one can hear me

-

Notes come this way

Closer, closer…

Pitch forming clearly here--

Wait, now--fading…

-

Disintegrated.

And I am alone again

With my soul, and

A note inside…

-

Heart pounds

And wants to escape

"Flee now," it says,

"It’s not too late to quit!"

-

But that note--

-

It climbs to the top

On a breath of air

A steady, clear pitch

It forms a song

-

Mind is dead

Body is numb

And the song soars

Freely

-

It is over, and

I hear the cheers,

And clapping, but

It is over.

this is what it feels like to sing.. well, at least to me.. i love music so much!
