Friendships Die

Why do people say they’ll stay,

Forever and ever,

Yet in the end they always leave?

It’s sad but true,

Every relationship ends

With someone leaving,

Be it by death,

Choice, or circumstances out of their control.

Why will no one stay forever?

In a world that never seems to end

I find only one true friend, who shares the same views.

We promise nothing to the other,

Because we know,

That in time,

Our friendship will die,

Just like all the ones before it.
