From a Naïve Lover

Have patience, my love,

my soul is a child,

still timid and unsure.

You terrify and excite me.

My innocent heart

beats fast at your touch;

my mind races.

You are sure and unafraid,

my naivety makes you smile.

Please guide me, love,

through the maze of romance.

I know not where to go,

but need your gentle hand

to softly steer me.

And though I am afraid,

I place my trust in you

and give you my heart,

as you enfold me tightly

in your loving embrace.
