The Sword and the Wall

I stand between

The wall and the sword

And ponder whether

To stay back or move forward.

The wall is cold and lonely,

Hard and made of stone.

The sword is cold and deadly,

But it doesn’t stand alone.

I step into the sword

And fall into the bearer’s embrace.

And of course, I surely die,

But with someone’s breath upon my face.
