If there is one thing I
know
It is that I know
nothing.
And perhaps that is how it should be.
For questioning is part of
the heritage inside of me.
In Judaism there is no
straight path
For all of their
existence, rabbbis have thought and fought
With no interpretation
echoing
As singular truth.
Monotheism.
Kabbalistic mysticism.
Agnosticism.
Athiesm too.
Any one can be the faith
of a Jew.
If there is a God who
chose us
He chose us to endure
great strife
To rise above it all
And continue to fight.
So don't try to convert me
Or argue that you alone
are right.
A Jew forever, I'll put up
a fight.
Tooth and nail to preserve
my kind
If not of faith, then at
least of cultural mind.
