Rainbows shine on everybody

When they’re feeling kind of cruddy

‘Cause all the rain will sometime stop

And there’s always a break in the drip-drip-drop.

No matter how awful your life can seem

It’s all fixed in a sec with that multi-colored gleam

‘Cause it’s hard to be sad, or angry or mad,

When a rainbow makes you feel so darn glad.

They’re not fancy doctors with their long, lengthy bills

Or attorneys that suck your money while they’re writing up your wills

They’re free for everybody on God’s good Earth to use

When the world is dark and gray, and there’s not much else to choose

We can look up in the sky, and feel better real quick

No matter where we are, even if we’re flat-out sick

‘Cause the rainbow’s always there, regardless of our whining

To remind us that everything has a silver lining.
