Music of the Dead Man

Kagoatweed’s Rant: R&R, and be inspired, but please don’t steal ideas.

Slack jaw soundless melody

Creaking rope a metronome

Blood a beat

And arms swinging to it.

Legs a pendulum

The bow of the violin

The bed sheets, disheveled

A fly stops to listen.

Running out of time

Running out of rhyme

Running out of reasons

Reasons to stay alive

Hypnosis in a man

Who plays his final song

Swan song for his sisters

Who won’t hear it in the morn.

Hushed screams muffled

By the fleeting lullaby

The lonely harmony wafts in

To add color to simple song

The only ones to see are

Nine loops of twine

That spin themselves tight

And… let… GO.
