Loneliness eats

At my heart and drives a wedge

Between the cracks of my soul.

- - -

I’m scared.

I don’t know what I’m scared of-

Maybe it’s the being alone—

But I want you

- - -

To take me in your arms and

Kiss my nose and

Stroke my hair—

- - -

And you won’t,

Even if you could

Because you don’t love me.
