What grows from a raisin?

Dried by the sun

And buried in sand.

Does a green sprout

Split through

The brown crust?

Rocks form from dust.

Can vines form from raisins?

Or is it pointless

To plant a field of raisins?

Will anything grow?

Will there be color across the sand

Will leaves dot the land?

With lots of water

And lots of love

Will a raisin vine

Rise to the world above.

And with a little patience

And a lot of time

Fiery flowers bloom

Along the vine.

And from there

All you need is a prayer

Fruit will fall

All over the field.

Neither grapes nor raisins

But a tastier treat

Like bitter rain

And summers heat.

Like caged hope

And heaven’s keys.

It will glow like the sun

Be clear as the sea.

That is what grows from a raisin

Dried by the sun

And buried in sand

Will come a fruit

Straight from God’s hands
