I have been though strife and time,

Carried wind across a chime,

Taken up my weighty pack

Set it on my weary back,

Gone out to the world unknown

Praying that my skills I’d hone,

Battled evil, sailed through storm,

Held my own, and been torn,

Fallen into blank despair,

Core of my soul in disrepair,

Wallowed ‘round in black abyss

Waiting for that saving kiss,

Never found but longed for still

Battling against my will

To finally climb free from debt,

A task which filled me with regret,

Discovered that in debt at least

There be cause to pray for cease,

Thus as soon as out the pit

I had climbed I then did slip,

Found myself unable now

Or unwilling to climb somehow

Back out of this weary hole,

Save my eyes and rescue my soul,

Somehow I have lasted through

Now for once I ask of you,

I have fallen, no strength left,

All life has left me bereft,

So the strong now cries for aid,

Raise me from this weary grave,

Take me up into your arms

Take me far from all the harms

They weigh upon my tired bones,

Save me please, carry me home…
